Who funds organizations like yours?
Grant data refreshed September 11, 2026 from IRS 990 e-filings (Schedule I and 990-PF Part XV).
Foundations have to report every grant they make. We read those filings and turn them around: enter your EIN and see which funders gave to organizations in your state working on your cause, how much they typically give, and who they gave it to. Start your funder list with the ones who already say yes to work like yours.
Funders on record for you
Grants where your EIN appears as the recipient on a funder's Schedule I.
Funders of your cause in your state
Other active funders in your state
Grantmakers with a broad footprint in your state whose recent grants did not include your cause.
How to use this. A funder on this list has a track record, not an open door. Read their most recent 990-PF for guidelines and deadlines, check whether they accept unsolicited proposals, and look at the sample recipients — if those organizations look like you, you are in the right place. Amounts are totals across the filings we have; "median grant" is the typical single check.
Where the numbers come from
Public charities list grants to other organizations on Form 990 Schedule I; private foundations list every grant paid on Form 990-PF Part XV. We extract both from the IRS e-file release, keep the grants whose recipient is in a state we cover, and match recipients to their NTEE cause code. Grants to individuals (scholarships and the like) are left out. Coverage is one filing year and grows with each IRS release.
